Chalice and its paten in neoclassical style in solid silver gilt by Alexis Renaud, Paris around 1840. The chalice have the hallmark of Alexis Renaud (1831-1836) and the paten the hallmark of Hippolyte Puche his successor (1847-third quarter of the 19th century). The round base is adorned with three medallions depicting the trial of Jesus, Pontius Pilate washing his hands, the Flagellation and the Cross against a background of the Antique Jerusalem. The openwork cup is also decorated with three medallions representing Saint Joseph, the Blessed Virgin and Christ. The set is decorated with wheat, vine and reed motifs. The paten is engraved with the letters "IHS" and the Sacred Heart pierced with nails of the Passion. Perfect condition, sold in its transport case. Dimensions: height 11,54 inch, diameter of the cup 3,43 inch, diameter of the paten 6,18 inch. Weight: 654 grams.
