Chalice and its paten in neo-Gothic style in solid silver gilt by Pierre-Henri Favier, Paris around 1870. The hexafoiled base is decorated with six oblong medallions depicting the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan, the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, the crown of thorns and the arms of the Passion for the last two. The node is divided into six lobes ending in gothic roses. The cup is decorated with six medallions representing the theological virtues for three of them and angels for the last three. The paten is decorated with the Last Supper. Rare beautifully crafted chalice (note the weight of the whole), rich half-bump decoration, re-varnished ballast plate under the base, perfect condition, sold in its transport case. Dimensions: height 11,18 inch, diameter of the cup 4.06 inch, diameter of the paten 6,77 inch. Weight: 1142 grams.
