Chalice and its paten in neoclassical style in solid silver gilt by Alexandre THIERRY, Paris 1850-1853. The round base is decorated with angels around its perimeter and above three medallions depicting the Immaculate Conception with engraved below "France 1850", Christ in bond and the Crucifixion. The openwork cup also have three medallions representing the theological virtues. The entire chalice is decorated with the motifs of vines, wheat and reeds. The paten is engraved with the crown of thorns, the letters "IHS" surmounted by the Cross and the Sacred Heart pierced with the nails of the Passion. Small lacks to the gilding at the level of the node and micro-scratches at the bottom of the cut otherwise perfect condition (see photos). Sold in a transport case.
