Ciborium in solid gilt silver by Louis III Samson, known as Samson eldest son, Toulouse 1809-1819. Important model made by the successor of the famous Toulouse inhabitant’s silversmith, the Samson. The base is decorated with three medallions depicting the Christ, the Blessed Virgin and Saint John. The node is still inspired by the style of the French “Ancien Régime” by its shape and its gadroon decoration. The openwork cup is ornated with three medallions representing the Menorah, the Tables of the Ten Commandments and the Tetragrammaton. The whole piece is decorated with reeds, wheat and vines. Very beautiful work, it is worth noting the weight of the object. There is a lack in the openwork cup (see photo), otherwise perfect condition. Sold without transport box.
